Nigerian street-hop sensation Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has released a new love-themed single titled Philo featuring fellow Afrobeats superstar, Omah Lay.

Following the success of his previously released single this year, New Born Fela, the star released his new Afropop single as a preview to his upcoming debut studio album, Hypertension, which fans await expectantly.

The single is a love tune that combines Omah Lay’s melodic voice and suggestive lyrics with Bella Shmurda’s street hop baselines. In Philo, Bella Shmurda shows his more romantic side and he mentions a girl named Philomena, for whom he is ready to risk it all:

[Bella Shmurda]

Nothing wey I no go do for my philo

Nothing wey I no go do for my philo

Rest on me like pillow

Omo to dun, Ten kilo (ten kilo)

[Omah Lay]

Nothing wey I no go do for my philo

My personal olosho, for the days I’m on the low

Nothing wey I no go do for my baby oku

The song is accompanied by a visualizer which features well-shot behind-the-scenes clips of the two artists hanging out and really just having a good time. With over 21,000 likes and currently trending at number 7 on YouTube, it’s clear fans are feeling the vibes and collaboration.
