BRIG. GENERAL JONES AROGBOFA (RETD.) NAMED AS NEW CHIEF OF STAFF TO THE PRESIDENT

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday named Brig. Gen Jones Arogbofa (retd.) as his new Chief of Staff.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati disclosed this via Twitter.

Arogbofa is meant to take over with immediate effect after Chief Mike Oghiadomhe resigned his appointment in controversial circumstances last week.

Arogbofa, a retired Officer of the Signals Corps of the Nigerian Army, was born on November 10, 1952 and hails from the Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

He holds a Diploma in Communications Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, USA; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama, USA; and a Masters Degree in Military Arts and Science from the United States Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
