Buhari Appoints SGF, Chief Of Staff And Others

According to the Office of the President, President Buhari has approved the following appointments within his administration:

Secretary to the Government of the Federation – Engr. Babachir David Lawal

Chief of Staff to the President – Alhaji Abba Kyari

Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service – Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali

Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service – Mr. Kure Martin Abeshi

SSA to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) – Senator Ita S.J. Enang

SSA to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives) – Hon. Suleiman A. Kawu

The appointments too effect yesterday(27th of August) according to Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity. Many have complained about the appointments on the basis that they do not reflect federal character but it is worth noting that these appointments are essentially the President’s most trusted aides so naturally comparability is a crucial factor.
