It is no longer news that Abba Kyari, a trusted adviser and President Buhari’s Chief of Staff since coming into office in 2015, passed on Friday after struggling with COVID-19. Kyari’s replacement is yet to be announced however, two names, Adamu Adamu and Babagana Kinigbe are floating at the moment to emerge as the new Chief of Staff.
Adamu who currently serves as the Minister of Education is said to be at the forefront and most likely to be named the new Chief of Staff. Kinigbe, is the only other name floated in the public sphere for the position, however, it is believed that there may be issues pertaining to disloyalty which will dissuade Buhari from going with Kinigbe.
