Ahead of the African Giant tour and shortly after recording his debut on the UK singles chart for his feature on Dave’s Location, Burna Boy releases Steel & Copper, a new four-track EP with production, DJ Dodger Stadium (DJDS) who have worked with the likes of Khalid, The Dream and Kanye West.
The EP opens with 34, a track saluting Greek NBA player and MVP prospect, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo who is of Nigerian heritage has expressed a desire to connect with Nigeria in the near future. The small forward whose jersey number is 34, receives a salute to his talent on the record. Burna talks in depth about the inspiration behind the track on The Score’s Cross Culture.
The full body of work is a display of Burna’s range as an artist. He shows he has the capabilities to make music for foreign markets and it shall be interesting to see if the project is pushed to the forefront with his upcoming tour across the US.
