Grammy Award-winning superstar Burna Boy has released the official video for the trendy song City Boys which is off his recently released seventh studio album I Told Them. Directed by 20K, the video includes a cameo from Quavo.

Since its release, City Boys has made waves, becoming a sensation with its catchy signature dance that Dave Chapelle was later seen practising after Burna’s performance at Dave’s “It’s a Celebration” tour.

Last month, the self-acclaimed African dropped his latest 15-track album after which it debuted at #1 on the Official U.K. Albums charts, making history as the first international African artist to reach such a feat. The album also peaked at  #1 in 55 countries on Apple Music, as the artist proceeded to mark his third appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 with the summer anthem Talibans II. The icing on the cake is the #1 spot which  the album’s lead single on Sittin’ On Top Of The World recently occupied on Rhythmic radio.

The visuals of City City Boys are glossy and classy, as Burna Boy is pictured amongst urbane young men all of whom are in a feel-good moment. Also included in the cinematographic cuts are flashy cars and an exotic city landscape. In synchrony with the content and title of the song, the visuals capture a cosmopolitan existence ruled by big shots of Burna’s ilk in society.

City Boys is undoubtedly one of the most talked-about releases of the year. The music video does justice to the lyrics, making it an an artistic masterpiece that both fans and non-fans of the African Giant can savour.  Having conquered the world of Afrobeats and positioned himself as a torchbearer of the music on the global stage, Burna Boy wants to keep doing music with eclectic appeal. City Boys is a testament to his exceptional talent and cross-cultural aspirations as he seeks to further engage the international community and create an ineradicable legacy for himself.
