Cassper Nyovest is Back on His Flex on ‘Ksazobalit’

Cassper Nyovest is always one to be prophetic with his lyrics on a song. He has been unrelenting in gloating about his voyage from subsistence to opulence, closely followed by an affirmation and prophecy on his determination to remain at the top. We see these themes through out his projects from Tsholofelo of 2014, Refiloe of 2015, and Thuto of 2017. Come 2018, Nyovest looks to be in album mode again as he excites his fans with Check On You, featuring Davido, singing about opulence and lavish living before following up 15 days later with another big flex in, Ksazobalit.

The song which translates to “It’s go’n keep being lit” promises to be just as big a club popper as his previous hits like Doc Shebeleza and Tito Mboweni. While dominantly in Setswana, where we hear English, Cassper touches on status, his love life and being under the spotlight. The beat and delivery of the song is trap inspired, and while some argue Cassper may be selling out to the type of mumble rap we expect from Offset, one can also raise the versatility the hottest MC on the continent is showing.
