Ckay’s debut EP, CKay The First was the project that set his path on fire with singles like, Way, DTF and Love Nwantiti which he brings to the fore this week by way of a Makere Thekiso directed Short Film titled Alien that highlights the musician’s expansive creative style.
The seven-minute-long emotive film spans a number of innovative personas we never thought to associate with Ckay. From a free-flowing well of exotic poetry that spotlights his exquisite penmanship skills to varied performances that reveal his penchant for otherworldly art, Ckay is rightly all over the place in Alien.
The film begins with a poem that reveals his intent followed by ethereal scenes that draw life from hit single, DTF. His otherwordly performance in this first part morphs into a more humane space ruled by the piercing acoustics of Love Nwantiti. This is followed by several chaotic scenes accompanied by a smooth rendition of a heartfelt poem that ushers him out.
Everything about Alien is positively unconventional, a metaphor that alludes to Ckay’s uniqueness.
