Cuppy Enlists Skuki For Werk

Unlike her other releases heralded by aggressive promotions, DJ meets Singer; Cuppy springs a surprise release on her ‘Cupcakes’ this Friday with a fast paced trap inspired single. For this slinky new record titled Werk she resurrects Afrobeat group; Skuki to dazzle it with their signature ‘life of the party’ ambience and they come through vocalizing cheeky lines verse after verse which fused with the pensive 808s controlling synthesized flutes and keys produce a gyrating rhythm that will have you moving in no time.

When Cuppy comes on in the second verse with spasmic lyrics, a continuous flow of rhythmic hypnotism is expected but at some point she loses this flow. Fortunately, Skuki picks it up with engaging hooks and chorus and together the trio dictate the sequence of their groovy narrative to the final second as evidenced in the accompanying kaleidoscopic workout inspired visuals directed by Unlimited L.A. If there is anything DJ Cuppy has done right musically this year, its Werk which she has already stated is her favorite.
