Davido rolled out his sophomore album, A Good Time in New York City a couple of weeks back. Part of the rollout process included a listening session at YouTube, an afro dance workshop with Izzy Odigie and a conversation alongside Amarachi Nwosu of Melanin Unscripted at Colombia University about using his platform as a tool to shape Africa’s image.
Davido speaks on his beginnings in the music industry and navigating the space delicately while trying to serve as an ambassador for Nigeria and the African continent.
He also speaks at length about his new album and how music, entertainment and now culture has continued to help restructure conversations about Africa before touching on his approach to the music business with DMW and how it has been about community first.
