The idea that DMW has been Nigeria’s most dominant record label in 2017 and probably the last 18 months is one most can agree with regardless of whether they admire the label’s two frontrunners, Davido and Mayorkun or not. Tracks like IF and Fall returned Davido to the star status he built in earlier years after an underwhelming 2016 run. On the success of those tracks, the SONY signee then took on the Americas, Europe and a couple of cities in Africa as part of the 30 Billion Gang tour. As the tour came to an end, the focus switched to making the same impact on the African continent. That was before adversity set in in the form of untimely loss of lives to former DJ Olu and Tagbo and forced OBO to switch up the schedule with Fia. Returning to the initially planned order of events, Davido releases Teni the Entertainer written and Shizzi produced, Like Dat.
Its video was recorded in Los Angeles with DAPS as the director and has a spacesuit vibe to it reminiscent of classic Puff Daddy and Mase videos from the 90s.
