Over a decade ago, D’ Banj and 2 Baba were Nigeria’s premier popstars. Effectively, the Wizkid and Davido of their time. The duo who notably failed to collaborate at the peak of their powers come together to candidly take us through a colorful journey with their muses that inspires heavy feelings of nostalgia in their new single aptly titled Baecation. This can be viewed as a follow up to the Laary Gaaga helmed Baba Nla.
The duplication of their visual and audio performance is not the only phenomenon that evokes nostalgic feelings but the significant elements, such as D’banj’s harmonica, his laid-back but impressionable lyricism, 2Baba’s lackadaisical but interesting performance but most importantly, their knowledge and expertise in making chart topping and mood elevating music.
These past few months, both artistes have made impressive comebacks as individuals and now, as a collective which alludes an omnipresent love for music in both of them and the fact that they have not lost their flavor.
