Dennis Osadebe has always been one of our favorites at Culture Custodian so its particularly fun to see him take important steps in the right direction. Over a span of 8 days at the beginning of June, Osadebe shall continue taking those steps with his debut solo exhibition tagged Remember The Future. According to Osadebe,

“Remember the Future is a visual journey into Nigeria’s analogue past and its digital present. The Exhibition explores the idea of mixing traditional materials and crafts with technology and new media. The aim is to question the realities about Nigeria’s contemporary society, including those of power, class, and gender whilst suggesting possibilities for the future.”

Remember the Future serves as a continuation of Osadebe’s growth which has been marked by his development beyond an artist but also into a designer with the release of limited edition merchandise under his new lifestyle brand, Live Fast Die Slow (LFDS) in Spring 2017.

Through this exhibition, Osadebe who prides himself on his vibrant style which features bright colors shall focus on society and technology in Nigeria and question realities about Nigeria’s contemporary society, including those of power, class, and gender whilst suggesting possibilities for the future.

The exhibition begins on the 3rd of June 2017 and shall run until the 11th of June 2017 at The Red Door Gallery, 51b Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Register here.
