Nigerian artiste Kenechukwu Amadi, recognized professionally as DJ 808, has formed an alliance with fellow Nigerian star Peruzzi and South African producer Caltonic SA, with a new single Cover Me released April 28, 2023. The song comes off the artiste’s anticipated album blessed with top-rated collaborations and features, and a music video will be released to the effect of the single.
With romance being the fulcrum of its lyrics, Cover Me thrives over Amapiano beats championed by Caltonic SA (responsible for the production of Davido & Focalistic’s Champion Sound). The feel-good song focuses on a male lover who is enchanted by the presence of his lady, while the vocal deliveries of both Peruzzi and DJ 808 are smooth, mellow and arresting.
“It gives me great pleasure to share this release with my supporters and the world,” an optimistic DJ 808 stated in an interview. Also, showing delight over his soon-to-be-released album, which would serve as a lauch pad for him in the music industry, the artiste said, “there are lots of great songs with some big artistes”.
Before news of his debut single broke out, DJ 808 was involved in several concerts, some of which are Afro Nation Ghana, Abbey & Pan Abuja, Avant Garde, Smade Lounge London, Obi’s House of Lagos, Soundcity/Urban Radio and J’Adore Night Club in London. There’s no doubt that the artiste means business as he takes his musical career by its bull’s horns.
