Washington-based Nigerian-Afrobeat artist, DJ GIAA has released two Amapiano-cum-Afrobeat songs, Message and Jazz Hole Ikoyi.

Known for his covert identity, contained in a mask,  DJ GIAA’s pair of Afrocentric tracks are irresistible as they serve as the appropriate mood-titivating anthem that listeners can enjoy any time. The highlights of his songs are groovy melodies and up-tempo beats. With his debut project Vol 1 amassing over 200,000 streams on DSPs, DJ GIAA is set to make a massive impact on the Afrobeat space.

A talented and versatile disc jockey born in the cosmopolitan city of Lagos, Nigeria, Ayoola Damola, professionally known as DJ GIAA, has always had a deep-seated interest in music. While his passion knows no bounds, allowing him to establish himself as a force to contend with, the artist first discovered his path at an early aged during which he used electrifying sets to reach his audiences.

Tapping from numerous genre influences, particularly Afrobeats, Raggae, Afro-House and Dancehall, DJ GIAA has been able to fashion a distinct identity for himself which sets him apart from the crowd. He has previously released amazing singles like 4 AM In Ikeja, Good Evening Bariga, By Fire By Force, and his debut EP Vol. 1

DJ GIAA boasts an Instagram following of over 190K, a hit single Runaway which peaked at #40 on Spotify’s editorial playlist “Top 50 Nigeria”, and an impressive playing time across several festivals in the United States.

His obvious disregard for stylistic constraints and music conventions makes him adventurous. It’s no wonder he sports a mask, which symbolizes his anonymous, eccentric nature that makes him seem interestingly unpredictable.

The most outstanding track in DJ GIAA’s mini-project is Message, a hit that is buttered with street slang and followed by the similarly catchy Jazz Hole Ikoyi. Both songs hold the attention of listeners with their infectious, feel-good rhythms, effusing an unadulterated sonic experience. Also part of the music are dance features, which renders every listening moment a delight one.

The lead track Message is indeed pregnant with a timely message as the artist muses over the prevalence of internet scams in his homeland. The rhythms are a combination of Amapiano-inspired beat and energetic drums. In the second track Jazz Hole Ikoyi, DJ GIAA subscribes to a party-like encounter which allows him to connect seamlessly with his audience.
