Dremo was DMW’s promise of a hip-hop demi god to the Nigerian music industry which till this day lacks the range its artists boast about while sometimes wielding weak punchlines. Somewhere along the line, he lost his purpose to the enticing hands of mainstream music but ever since his debut EP; Codename Vol. 1, the young MC has been a personification of the dilemma faced by rappers without commercial acclaim.
This month, as he traces his steps back to his roots, he goes back to basics with a social commentary piece titled Mirror in which he refuses to toe the lines of political correctness by valiantly touching on the pressing issues we face in our society while name-calling and maybe grandstanding.
As truth in sublime lyricism meets an engaging soundscape, Dremo is cast in a different light and perhaps soon, we’ll witness the full extent of his supposed stellar wordplay and flow.
