Born and raised in Nigeria, and now based in Brooklyn, Nigerian-American singer, Edoheart, comes back in full force on her passion-filled five-track EP, For The Love, following a single run that introduced the public to her hauntingly tender delivery stemming from years spent crafting and refining her own experimental sounds.

Considering herself as one of the few alternative African voices around, she has been trying to radically expand the acknowledgment of African arts and Nigerian culture across several different verticals and on For The Love, her captivating story touches upon this topic of cultural heritage, inequality, and stereotypes, among others.

The quaint and passionate EP opens with the earlier release, Rogie (Oh No) in response to her experience with loss. It continues with its lead single Seesaw, a fun and bouncy throwback to ‘80s dancehall that dives into heteronormative relationships and cultural norms while celebrating women who are authentic to their own beauty. The next track, Do Me Do Me, touches on unappreciative love and commitment, and Original Sufferhead reflects on hardship and hopelessness, as well as the self-love required to keep going. For The Love ends on a high note with I Will Be There, a promise to always stand up and show up for loved ones.

The EP is paired with funky videos for some of its singles that give us an insight into how creative Edoheart is and how much of this creativity she marries with her special interpretation of music.
