The We Rise Initiative is an African social enterprise empowering women and girls to rise above twenty-first century oppression and the stigmatisation of pan-african and intersectional feminism. Launched in 2015 by Laila Johnson-Salami and Tracy Aryee-Quao, the NGO aims to become a force for women in Africa, paving the way for social, economic and political growth. Last year, the We Rise Initiative held its inaugural conference in Lagos under its ‘Elevate Her’ series. Due to the success of the event, the We Rise Initiative is bringing Elevate Her to London next month! The theme for this event is How to Maximise Your Potential to Break Glass Ceilings.
The event is divided into three segments: A keynote speech from former Sky News Correspondent Afua Hirsch, Professional Workshops from influential women such as Mariah Idrissi (First Hijabi Model for H&M) and Educational Workshops run by NGOs and platforms such as Women Deliver. The line up of facilitators will be released shortly and tickets can be purchased here.
We hope to see you there!
