Rising star Winny (Winifred Ohili Adanu) has released a self-titled debut EP Winny. As self-titled projects usually are, Winny is an unadulterated embodiment of the artist’s authenticity and self-assuredness.

The multi-genre artist who is influenced by artists like Chronixx, Kranium and Wizkid, concocts a smooth blend of Reggae, R&B/Soul, coupled with her captivating vocals and relatable lyrics. Although still in the early stages of her career, Winny’s goal is to evoke emotive feelings in her listeners also while communicating love, compassion, self-awareness and belonging through her craft. The EP features production by Damie, John P, and Wodemagic.

Speaking on the inspiration behind her EP, she shares that  “This is an introduction into my sonic range; as well as my personality. The inspiration for this project came from my journey and experiences through different relationships. My message for the EP is acknowledging and highlighting the range of emotions you feel from being in love with someone — including the times when you start to feel like your love isn’t reciprocated. Also, to prioritize loving and taking care of yourself; never forgetting who you are, where you come from and appreciating your journey and personal growth.”

The EP includes her previously released singles Don’t Leave Me and Pretty, the former of which debuted in the Top 200 of the Apple R&B/Soul Chart in Nigeria, Kenya, Congo, and Gambia. These songs serve as a glimpse into the raw and distinct edge she possesses and is bound to build upon in the EP Winny
