EmPawa’s 100 Masterclass Yields A Celebration Of Music Paradise On The Metaphorical ‘Kalakuta’

Kalakuta is not what you expect when the drums and guitars open up the new single and that’s precisely what the emPawa brand is about uniqueness, and surpassed expectations albeit it’s title is a metaphor for a place of comfort. The single which collects on the strength and talent of some of emPawa’s finest, including Bey T of Kenya, Malawi’s George Kalukusha, Lady Donli from Nigeria, Nemo and Ruth Ronnie from Zambia, Trina South, and Zimbabwe’s Union5, leverages the group’s nonconforming approach to music resulting in a weirdly stunning single that not only speaks to music’s universality but the beauty that results from multicultural harmonies.

Considering its composition, Kalakuta is experimental but also warm and highly relatable. The song which was created during the first emPawa 100 Masterclass about a year ago now has a video shot in Stellenbosch South Africa to go with.

The video is tied to the song’s intent which is to celebrate Kalakuta as a musician’s paradise.
