Gifted Nigerian pop star, Fave has announced the release of her first solo single of the year, which she calls Scatta Scatta. The song was produced by frequent collaborator Damie (who also produced the award-winning Baby Riddim just 12 months ago).
Scatta Scatta is yet another feat of Fave’s vivid imagination, capturing the chaos of youthful romance, daydreaming about her dream city, over Damie’s high-pace house beat. Playing at 113 BPM, the song is a classified dance tune, and just on time for the weekend.
The 22-year-old artist’s latest single also pays homage to her dream city, Montego Bay, as she sings “my dream is my dream is, shopping with you in Montego”. She explains further via her personal notes on the song:
“Scatta Scatta is one of those songs that the beat just tells you exactly where it’s going to take you and takes you there. I like so much to be a part of the song production process even after the point of recording. It’s a ‘dance’ song, yeah? I almost have no idea. I wish I knew what Damie was on when he made this beat. I still don’t know but I felt it. Then the sax came in. The talking drums… It’s only coincidental that it’s a love song. It’s only coincidental that Montego Bay happens to be in a country that I’ll come from in my next life. Lord knows that if Montego wasn’t an actual place, we woulda created it ourselves.”
Fave has had a fantastic run since going viral during the first-ever Covid-19 lockdown, from debuting at #1 in over eight countries in November 2021 to bagging the rookie of the year award at the prestigious Headies award show in Atlanta last month. And this latest single is proof that she has only just begun.
