FG launches soil management centre in Ogoniland, engages 1200 women

As part of the processes suggested for implementation by the United Nations Environment Programme Report on Ogoniland, the Federal Government launched an Integrated Soil Management Center.

Performing the launch at Bori, in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Minister of Environment, Mrs. Amina Mohammed,  noted that the Ogoni clean-up was part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign promises and that the project would involve investing money in the development of the area.

Mohammed further revealed that the Federal Government intends on commencing the clean-up with the training of 1,200 women from Ogoni, noting that women of the area have made immense sacrifices in the process.
