FilmOne Entertainment Debut Original Film “Adire” Hits The Cinemas in November

Top Nigerian film production and distribution company FilmOne is set to release its first original film Adire on November 3, 2023.

The story is based on the titular character Adire (Kehinde Bankole) a former sex worker who relocates to a small town where she starts her business, only for that new life to be threatened upon an encounter with a former pimp. Also starring Damilola Ogunsi, Layi Wasabi, Femi Branch, Ifeanyi Kalu, Kelechi Udegbe, Yvonne Jegede, Ibrahim Chatta, Tomi Ojo, Mike Afolarin, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Yemi Blaq and Onyinye Odokoro, the film is directed by Adeoluwa Owu (director of The Griot, Camouflage; cinematographer on My Village People, Oga Bolaji, Charge and Bail, This Lady Called Life, Jagun Jagun, Shanty Town, Far From Home).

Regarding the film, FilmOne Entertainment writes on their official X account: “Discover the bonds that form amidst adversity, and witness the strength of a woman determined to rewrite her own destiny”.

Adire is created and written by Jack’enneth Opukeme, and produced by both Mimi Bartels and Barbara Babarinsa. Following its premiere, the film will be available across Nigerian cinemas.
