Nigerian singer and rapper Fresh L. has returned to the spotlight with his latest rap single Dunsin Wright, which is partly in adulation of himself and partly in honor of famous Nigerian fashion stylist Dunsin Wright. The song is produced by Odunsi the Engine, an alternative music singer-songwriter and connoisseur in his own right.

Originally known as part of the music collective, DRB Las Gidi, Fresh L. has to his credit singles such as Facetime, Finewine, Firewood, Bourdillon Love and Get Lickq’d. His career dates back to, at least, 2015 when he released the song Cold Streets. He has also worked with other top Afrobeats artists, including Davido on the 2018 hit Firewood, and both Falz and Ajebutter 22 on Regards To Your Mumsi. In 2018, Fresh L. dropped his five-track EP, See U Next Summer, featuring Davido and Wavy The Creator on two separate songs.

In Dunsin Wright, Fresh L. spits delightful bars throughout. His delivery is largely in praise of his music potential but he also compares himself to fast-rising fashion icon and influencer Dunsin Wright. Dunsin Wright is the in-house stylist to Grammy and BET award-winning Nigerian artist, Tems. Being a close friend and collaborator to the singer, the renowned creative has formed a unique, organic relationship with Tems over the years. Fresh L. attempts to bring Dunsin Wright’s potential to light on his single even though he shares in the spotlight when he claims “I’m always in style/better do me right/ I style niggas like Dunsin Wright”. Overall, the song takes a conceited ambiance as the artist praises himself and appreciates his rap game.
