Funke Akindele Announces New Feature Film “The Four”, Set for Global Release on December 11

Nigeria’s highest-grossing filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has announced her next feature film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, set for a global cinema release on December 11, 2026. Produced by Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV) and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the announcement marks the next chapter for one of Africa’s most commercially successful filmmakers, whose films  have consistently redefined the possibilities of Nigerian cinema. With Behind The Scenes, her last work, she grossed an unprecedented ₦2.76 billion, making her the first filmmaker to cross the ₦2 billion milestone. This monumental success follows her previous blockbusters, Everybody Loves Jenifa, which pulled in over ₦1.88 billion, and A Tribe Called Judah, which made ₦1.40 billion, firmly cementing her dominant position as one of the top three highest-grossing Nigerian movies in history. 

The Four is a powerful, emotionally charged drama celebrating friendship, motherhood, resilience, and the extraordinary strength of ordinary women. Set between the picturesque Odu Community and the vibrant pulse of the city, the film follows Esosa and three fiercely loyal women whose journey to fight for the future of a young man they love tests their courage, faith, and loyalty in unimaginable ways. Through music, fashion, language, tradition, and breathtaking cinematography, the film celebrates Nigeria’s rich cultural identity while weaving together authentic storytelling around hope, sacrifice, and the enduring power of unity. 

The film brings together one of Nollywood’s most accomplished ensemble casts, starring Funke Akindele, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan, and Wunmi Toriola. The film also features award-winning singer Waje, Afro-beats star Shoday, alongside entertainment personalities, Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho, and Ayomide Iwasokun.
