Funke Akindele to make Directorial Debut with Ebonylife Films’ Your Excellency

In a series of tweets, Mo Abudu disclosed that Funke Akindele will be making her directorial debut with Your Excellency, Ebonylife Films’ Christmas blockbuster for 2019. Akindele will also star in the star-studded comedy.

Your Excellency is centered on Chief Olalekan Ajadi, a “bumbling, billionaire businessman and failed presidential candidate, who is obsessed with Donald Trump”. Ajadi is running for president again, and the current campaign is heading towards another disaster. Then he receives the blessings of a major party and becomes a credible contender. The film follows the formulaic storyline that’s brought Ebonylife Films unprecedented success: funny stories on rich people with a near disastrous climax.

The film’s star-studded cast includes Alexx Ekubo, Lala Akindoju, Shaffy Bello, Eku Edewor, Oreka Godis, Akin Lewis, Bimbo Manuel, Seyi Law, Emma Oh Ma God, Osas Ighadalo and Helen Paul. The script was written by Yinka Oguns (Oloture, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel) and Toka Mcbaror (Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons) is the director of Photography.
