Dance remains an integral aspect of the Nigerian community and has significantly been impacted by the Red Bull brand. The Red Bull Dance Your Style competition has emerged as the fastest-growing one-on-one street dance battle in Nigeria with its third edition garnering extensive praise within the dance community.
It is an international street dance competition where participants showcase various street dance styles in response to diverse and unexpected music selections. They creatively interpret the music while engaging with the audience. Notably, the unique feature of this competition is that the audience plays a pivotal role in determining the winner.
At the world finals held in South Africa last year, Nigeria made a significant breakthrough. The Nigerian representative emerged as the first runner-up in a contest that saw participation from over 30 countries worldwide. This accomplishment brought Nigeria’s dance talent to the international stage.
During this year’s qualifiers, which took place in three regions – Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos – the top 16 finalists have been selected. These finalists will compete for the championship title, vying for the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the global finals in Frankfurt, Germany, scheduled for November.
