Horlar Of Lagos is Igniting Sneaker Culture in Nigeria

Posted on

Until recently the sneaker community in Nigeria was either stagnant or nonexistent and this was the case because there was no proper community to add that no one was leading the community and educating the grand audience on what is and what is not. All that changed as soon as Horlaroflagos took the vacant mantle to breathe life into the now-known sneaker community in Nigeria. “Re-igniting” might be underplaying what Horlaroflagos has brought to the community he has not only caused a spark but he has completely rejuvenated everything that surrounds the sneaker culture right here and beyond the shores of the country. The number one lifestyle photographer in the country decided to add something to an already amazing portfolio with a permanent stint in the sneaker culture; in a few years, he has raised the bar of the community with acquisitions of top-tier sneakers which has directly influenced anyone and everyone that he gets through to via his social media or his rapidly growing YouTube channel. He has continued over time to connect and build the sneaker community and although we can see that Nigeria is his main stay his influence is now felt in other parts of Africa with a tour to places in the continent like; Accra, Ghana; Nairobi, Kenya; Tanzania and Cape town, South Africa to cover lifestyle as well as the sneaker culture spreading the tentacles of the Nigerian sneaker community.

He has interviewed some of the biggest sneakerheads in the country with all the interviews available on his YouTube (Horlaroflagos). He is currently signed to REUPLANE as an ambassador for the sneaker-selling line; he is also about to be unveiled as an ambassador for a sneaker-cleaning company that would be shared with CC as soon as possible. Through his influence, it is evident that the sneaker community is growing at a rapid pace with a lot of people getting their original pair of sneakers to officially feel like they are part of a family.
