As technology reshapes childhood and the world demands new skills, teachers must find ways to prepare students for a changing future. How children are taught is just as important as what they learn.
For Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, the Indomie Annual Teachers’ Seminar provides a platform to recognise educators and discuss the changing demands of teaching.
Held on October 17, 2026, at the University of Lagos Women Society Hall, the 17th edition brought together hundreds of teachers from Lagos and Ogun states. Under the theme “21st Century Teaching Essentials: Engagement, Technology and Inclusion for Nigerian Education,” discussions focused on making learning more engaging and responsive to students’ needs.

Professor Mojisola Manuel, Director of the Career Support Development Centre and Professor of Early Childhood Education, explored the importance of developing the whole child through the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains of learning: the head, heart and hand.
The session encouraged teachers to move beyond memorisation towards learner-centred approaches that promote participation, practical application and critical thinking. Discussions on technology and inclusion highlighted the potential of digital tools in teaching and assessment, alongside methods that accommodate students’ different abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.
Mrs Oluwakemi Olusaanu, Director of Education, Lagos State Education District IV, emphasised continuous professional development, interactive teaching and positive teacher-student relationships.
Together, the sessions highlighted the importance of making learning engaging, inclusive and relevant to students’ needs.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr Tope Ashiwaju, Corporate Communications and Events Manager at Dufil Prima Foods Plc, acknowledged teachers’ contributions and highlighted the company’s education initiatives, including scholarships and educational facility interventions.
The seminar forms part of Dufil’s wider community engagement, bringing educators together to discuss the future of teaching while recognising their contributions to education.
The programme also featured the Indomitables Fan Club app, introduced by Mrs Ogechukwu Faith Joshua, Indomie National Manager and Coordinator of the Indomie Fan Club. Featuring games, competitions, a leaderboard and redeemable coins earned through pack coupons, the app extends Indomie’s engagement with children into digital spaces.

The event combined professional exchange with celebration. Teachers enjoyed Indomie meals, games and African music, while the National Heritage Dance Troupe brought Nigerian cultural expression to the stage. Participants also received Certificates of Participation.

The seminar’s longer-term value will depend on how its lessons translate into classroom practice. By continuing the initiative, Dufil and Indomie keep attention on the educators shaping the next generation and the approaches needed to support their work.
