iReport, An App To Report Human Trafficking in Nigeria Just Launched

Human Trafficking is a problem Nigeria has had for many years. Some participate in it unknowingly and while it’s easy to hide behind the lack of knowledge sometimes, with house helps and the like, it’s still unacceptable. Nigeria’s anti-trafficking agency, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), is taking necessary steps to ensure cases can be reported easily as they launch the NAPTIP iReport app. The application is thought of as a means to add some ease for people to report cases of human trafficking in the country. Citizens can alert local authorities on human trafficking incidents via the app.

Using the app, the agency hopes to improve its chances of prosecuting criminals who continue to engage in human trafficking. At the moment, the app is only on the Google Play store and possesses an option to call in as well as file a complaint.
