Canada-based Nigerian music sensation JAAP, has just unveiled his debut EP, Peaceful Chaos. On this project, he harnesses his creative directional skills and storytelling, focusing on creating his unique backstory for his  audience to follow. After dropping his first track, Real Life during the Lockdown in 2020, JAAP released a couple of bops including Big Vibe, One Time and Steppings, exploring soulful, pop music with Afrobeats and Northern American influences.

Tagging his own dynamic spin on the genre “Afro-hybrid,” a fusion of African traditional rhythms and chords, whilst leaning into contemporary musical elements, JAAP is exploring peculiarity with his craft. Peaceful Chaos explores his creative journey, through the years, and is a lyrical report of how far he’s come.

Featuring only one yet explosive collaboration with Jonalle, JAAP highlights his personal highs and lows, feelings and how they all sync into his persona and brand. The theme of the EP, especially on the song On Loud, is quite cherry, and optimistic. However, vulnerability is highlighted on the intro, Peace and Outro, I’m Okay, as JAAP bares his emotions in this debut body of work.

Peaceful Chaos is a closer look into Jaap’s world, and gives his audience a glimpse into his artistry and craft, eliciting all the genuine emotions necessary to connect an audience with an artist’s first EP.
