Off his new EP, Home, due for release tomorrow October 28th, Johnny Drille has released his new single titled Lover. The song which Johnny Drilled has dubbed “the new anthem for every hopeless romantic” is the second song on the 6-track EP.

The record, which is Johnny Drille’s second single of the year following How Are You (My Friend), was produced by Godwyn who had some assistance from Blahktonez and Shegs Adeh, with Johnny Drille handling its mixing and mastering himself.

In the single with a length of almost 3 minutes, Johnny Drille, whose real name is John Ighodaro, confesses his undying love for a girl while begging her to date him while Phyno makes a case for his feelings to a lover in Igbo language.

“Yeah / You see this special kinda feeling / Melu m m cho ka ibata nye my life a meaning / Zobulu ezo but kita everything revealing / Ina gbam ala blow my head up to the ceiling / Nwa m na catch feeling / Osokwam Dili busy / Ikponaro m, I go make everything easy / Words may be misleading but ur love is what I’m needing / Umu na enye m obi but your heart is what I’m keeping,” Phyno raps in Igbo following Johnny Drille’s excellent execution that set the pace for him to come in.

Commenting on his upcoming Home EP, Johnny Drille wrote, “I’ve made this specially for you, a piece of my heart in words and letters, some of the best songs I ever made with some of the most incredible artistes, which I can’t wait to share with you.” The EP also features guest appearances from The Cavemen and Adekunle Gold.
