JT’s ‘Afrobeat Kulture’ Centers His African Heritage

Posted on

American-based-Nigerian singer, JT is on a mission to use his sound to strike African heritage centered conversations with his fans across the world and Afrobeat Kulture, his latest, is his major tool of communication and the reason for the winding introspection that forms the basis of the five-track EP. Afrobeat Kulture is an ode to undiluted African culture and expressed in many ways.

JT’s primary genre is Afro-fusion, which he personally interprets as “a combination of Afrobeat, with some pop and RnB infused in it.” This experimental genre serves as the sonic plane on which he lands experiences fashioned in heady forms. His hope is that the message the project carries will inspire Africans, home and abroad to connect more with their cultures, be able to defend and project progressive core values as a people and practice it regardless of whatever part of the earth they might find themselves. In summary, the Afrobeat Kulture is touted as a unifier.
