Keepaza, a Nigerian payment identity platform founded by Akindele Liasu, is introducing a new way for individuals and businesses to receive payments without sharing sensitive financial details across informal channels. The payment identity platform reflects a deliberate decision to create infrastructure within Nigeria that reflects the realities of Nigerian commerce, where transactions often happen quickly, informally, and across multiple platforms.
Keepaza is founded on the belief that local problems need local solutions, and was developed after Liasu saw millions of Nigerians routinely share bank account details through platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Telegram to complete transactions.
“I sold a part of my Dubai operations because I deeply believe that this problem deserves a real solution and I was not willing to wait for someone else to build it,” Liasu said.
Keepaza provides users with a single verified payment identity, including a personalized link that connects directly to their bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets. Instead of typing account numbers through chats or voice notes, users simply share their link, allowing payments to be made securely and accurately.
The invoicing feature lets vendors create a request in thirty seconds. Clients get a clean invoice page, make the transfer through their own bank, and upload confirmation. Vendors are notified at every stage, replacing the current informal method of voice notes and screenshots.
As Nigeria’s fintech ecosystem continues to expand, Keepaza focuses on a critical but often overlooked layer in Nigeria’s fintech space, which is trust. While payments now move faster and with less friction, what has not kept pace is the infrastructure that tells you who you are dealing with before the money moves. Keepaza is building that layer, helping Nigerians present themselves as credible and professional in financial transactions.
Keepaza is now live, offering individuals and businesses a streamlined, secure way to manage payments, and the registration is free.
