Kima Otung’s mission with her music is to be the voice of freedom and optimism in the ears of women. The Nigerian born, Welsh raised and now London based, the singer is on a mission to prove to women everywhere that confidence and self-love are the most important attributes they will learn, and in the eccentric new video for I’m Cute, one of the singles taken from her upcoming debut EP Note To Self, she bravely attempts this.

I’m Cute is a self-love anthem infused with witty yet uplifting lyrics that reaffirms women’s beauty and greatness; fused with clever cultural references to her Nigerian heritage throughout the song, singing “I was born with all this spice, I’ve got flavor; Jollof Rice …”, her vivacity which is on full display in the cheery video filmed by Ines Hachou, she offers an uptempo and uplifting love song to conventional flaws in an anthemic way.

On her inspiration, Otung says,

“I want every woman and girl to sing this song about themselves to remind them that they are cute as hell, they shouldn’t let anyone make them doubt it.”
