Kizz Daniel Tour

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Kizz Daniel is currently under fire by angry fans after he failed to show up on time for his DMV show yesterday. The Buga crooner who is currently on his ten-city Afroclassic USA Tour was scheduled to perform in Silver Spring, Maryland on Thursday night. However, Kizz Daniel reportedly kept the audience waiting for over four hours.

After coming late to the show, chatter online is that he only performed for 30 minutes, and the crowd wasn’t having it. Kizz Daniel has had shows both in Nigeria and the UK which had many positive reviews, and some fans believe something had to have gone wrong for the singer to be that late. It has also been gathered that the self-acclaimed Vado D Great failed to apologize to the concert-goers for appearing late.

In the trending video circulating online, livid fans were seen throwing cups, tissues and other items at the singer as he performed some of his songs. Infuriated by his display of unprofessionalism, some of the concert-goers began chanting and demanding refunds.

The video drew outrage from Nigerian fans on Twitter who are reminded of the incessant act of disregard displayed by Nigerian artistes towards Nigerian fans. Kizz Daniel’s capers are coming off the back of the poor showing of several Afrobeats acts at the just concluded Afronation Portugal.

There continues to be concern about the unprofessionalism displayed by many Nigerian artistes, especially in regard to punctuality and stagemanship. A viral video of an Afronation attendee criticising the poor performances by artistes including Rema and Omah Lay led to an apology from both of them. This has made Nigerian fans begin to wonder why local fans aren’t accorded the same level of respect.
