Afrobeats superstar Kizz Daniel returns with a brand-new EP titled Lemon Chase. The seven-track project isn’t just a warm-up for his forthcoming album Uncle K—it’s a deeply personal collection that explores themes of love, loss, healing, and joy, all wrapped in melodies that resonate with listeners on an emotional level.
Each song on the EP represents a different facet of that emotional journey. From the soulful opener Black Girl Magic to the closing track Police—a moving collaboration with Mavin Records’ Johnny Drille and five-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo—Kizz Daniel delivers a body of work that tugs at the heartstrings while keeping fans on their feet.
On Lemon Chase, Kizz Daniel curates an impressive lineup of collaborators. The ethereal voices of Johnny Drille and Angelique Kidjo are complemented by the streetwise energy of Bella Shmurda, Odumodu Blvck, and Zlatan. Fola, who previously worked with Kizz Daniel on the hit single Lost, returns to bring further emotional depth and texture to the project. Together, they create a rich and dynamic soundscape that defines the spirit of the EP.
Production on the project is handled by some of Afrobeats’ most trusted hitmakers. Reward Beatz, Blaise Beatz, Magic Sticks, Bando, and Ayzed—frequent collaborators known for crafting chart-topping records—bring their signature touches to the project. Reward Beatz produced Eyo and co-produced Black Girl Magic alongside Bando and Blaise Beatz. Blaise Beatz also helmed Secure and Peace I Chose. Titi was produced by Magic Sticks and co-produced by Reward Beatz and Blaise Beatz, while Ayzed left his mark on the emotionally resonant Al Jannah.
Speaking on the project, Kizz Daniel shares:
“When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it. I wanted this project to feel like real life—sweet, sour, confusing, beautiful. This is music for your heart—for when you’re healing, hoping, or remembering. I just wanted it to be honest, authentic, and true to self.”
With Lemon Chase, Kizz Daniel continues to evolve—not just as a hitmaker, but as a storyteller unafraid to confront life’s complexities. The EP sets the tone for Uncle K and reaffirms his place as one of Afrobeats’ most enduring and emotionally resonant voices.
