Konshens And Davido Find Common Ground On Dancehall Inspired ‘Boom Bang’

Known for world-renowned dancehall hits like Bruk Off Yuh Back and Gal a Bubble, Jamaican singer, Konshens has represented the genre on collaborations with an impressive range of artists ranging from the late Nipsey Hussle to Doja Cat and The Chainsmokers. Recognizing the ability of Nigerian artists to plug into just about any genre and Davido’s commendable collaboration with Popcaan, he enlists him on Boom Bang, an upbeat attempt to get summer started, Jamaican style.

Produced by Ricky and Jonny Blaze, Boom Bang, which also serves as a single off Konshen’s forthcoming album, is accompanied by a Demarco-directed video. Speaking about its creation, Konshens said:

“here is no storyline to the video, it’s just a fun vibe and that’s what we want going into the summer. The past year has been way too serious, so we’re trying to loosen things up now.”

Despite their differences and sound constraints, Konshens and Davido, being experienced artists, manage to find common ground over the Blaze’s bouncy Pipe-driven synths and shared love for women who have firm grips on feminine wiles. Their use of loose metaphors powered by comical rhymes like, “I want to put you for table, chop you like vegetable“, adds to the single’s exquisiteness.
