Kwesi Arthur Releases Video for “Animal” ft.  Dayonthetrack

Ghanian rapper and singer Kwesi Arthur returns with brand new visuals for his single Animal, alongside rising collaborator and producer Dayonthetrack, taken from his acclaimed recent debut album Son of Jacob.

Singing in Twi and English, Kwesi Arthur taps into all angles of the diaspora with Animal, following the global success of the rapper’s hard hitting single Nirvana. Animal explores the ever-growing sound of Amapiano, using the genre’s signature shakers, piano melodies, and intense drum patterns.  

The cinematic visuals see Animal go from day to night, incorporating strong themes of empowerment and rebellion. With assistance from Dayonthetrack, Kwesi’s styles continue to develop, showing trademark versatility and natural talent, whilst intertwining new themes with his much-loved heritage.

Kwesi’s multidimensional grasp of genres and worlds has seen him sell out shows across London and New York, gaining critical attention across heavyweight tastemakers including i-D, VIPER and THE NEW YORKER. A recent co-sign from DJ Semtex proclaiming Kwesi’s music contributes to the redefining sound of modern-day pop, considering the musician to be on the same playing field as Dave, Stormzy and Drake. All signs point to Kwesi emerging as one of Ghana’s most important and relevant new voices.
