After being instrumental to securing exclusive distribution rights in Anglophone West Africa for major Hollywood studios, including Sony Pictures and Walt Disney for Filmone, Ladun Awobokun has been appointed Chief Content Officer of the company. From her early days with the company until becoming General Manager, she has been extremely passionate about creating opportunities for filmmakers to tell their stories.
Filmone Limited is Nigeria’s leading film production and distribution company, and placing Ladun in this role speaks of its commitment to enhancing its creative vision and further solidifying its leadership in the entertainment industry. Ladun has earned recognition for her accomplishments, most notable being the aforementioned distribution rights that positions Filmone as a market leader with the highest market share in the region. Not only that, but Filmone has distributed 90% of the top-grossing Nollywood films under her leadership. This includes A Tribe Called Judah, the first ever Nollywood film to surpass N1 Billion at the box office, Wakanda Forever, Ajosepo and King of Thieves, to mention a few.
This new role will see Ladun Awobokun handle the creative direction, operations and content strategy of both divisions of the company; Filmone Entertainment and Filmone Studios. Not only will she be responsible for driving the development of high-quality content that resonates with audiences both locally and internationally, she will also progress Filmone’s legacy of producing and distributing films that elevate the Nigerian film industry on the global stage.
