Essential to every artist’s growth is an in-depth understanding of their audience which stretches beyond marketable self-expression. More than anything, joint projects are steeped in this understanding as they usually consist of two or more artists – who are well aware of the yearnings of their fans to have them come together and a shared similarity between them – coming together to produce a sellable project. For Tomi Thomas and Lady Donli, this understanding has led them to create together. Initially, their collaborations came under their names however, they’ve come together under the tag ‘The Forbidden’ for a new single tagged ‘Work,’ ahead of a collaborative project.
Self produced by Tomi Thomas and DOZ with GMK’s digital but naturalized engineering, Work is an exploration of the intricacies of life in relation to hard work, one which the duo articulate in a sort of spiritual manner made possible by their lax but mood inducing flow, reverbrating drums and synths that will resonate within the listener and a general alluring ambiance.
Not much has been said about the coming project but by all indications of the fantastic jobs done on Ice Cream and now Work, Jin-Tachi (Lady Donli) and Bushido Takumi (Tomi Thomas) are forces to reckon and we expect nothing short of perfection in the join project.
