Lagos Fashion Week’s “XRetail” Is Trumping The Pandemic

Lagos Fashion Week is not missing a beat this year as plans are on as usual for a show-stopping series of presentations. This year’s edition is themed XRetail” and will be focused on facilitating commerce opportunities within the fashion community. This year, XRetail in partnership with Afrikea will for the first time, curate a selection of African ready to wear, accessory, and beauty brands for a unique digital shopping experience.

At this year’s two-day event- set to take place from August 14th -16th, 2020, there will be opportunities for a select number of patrons and the public to attend an onsite must-see installation and activation center. Presentations from designers will also utilize a range of technologies from Virtual Reality to 3D visualization.⁣⁣⁣

The usual street fashion fanfare that has become synonymous with Lagos Fashion Week will unfortunately not be an event this year. While that’s enough to dissuade the throng of onlookers, the novel platform that the fashion industry will be leveraging on this time is definitely worth seeing. African Fashion is finally meeting Technology and we’re so here for it!
