Laime And Odumodublvck Reminisce On Tough Times On “Where Dem Dey”

Posted on

Afro-fusion singer, Laime kicks off his musical year with a renewed braggadocio as he joins forces with fast rising rapper Odumodublvck on the vibrant new single, Where Dem Dey. Where Dem Dey is followed by his last single Ordinary Love (Different), released late last year.

Produced by Apex Village honcho, Thrill Max, the record is a distinguishable sound and vibe from most of Laime’s earlier releases, and it’s foray into the world of pop-rap sonics. On Where Dem Dey, Laime and Odumodublvck carefully convey a vivid story about loyalty, indulgence, betrayal, and revenge, while maintaining the allure of relatability to anyone who comes from hardships and the streets of Nigeria with the use of certain nuances and phrases.

When talking about the new single, the Lagos-based artiste described it as “aggressive”, “dark” and “braggadocious”, with a great beat to compliment it. Doing what he does best, Odumodublvck delivered a guest verse on Where Dem Dey that took what Laime started to another level; his verse served as a complement to the record as the rapper flaunted his charismatic and audacious pen game and delivery.

A record of swagger and fervency, Where Dem Dey is a progressively outstanding record: from the beat to the audacious lyrics, Odumodu and Laime lay a solid foundation for upcoming releases. The record dropped alongside a visualiser shot by Mr Earl and edited by Psycho YP.
