Iya mi,

I am writing this heart felt letter to you, to express my love and appreciation. I know it can never be enough to show the magnitude of it all but it’s something.

You have always been there for me, at my lowest and at my highest points. At times when I thought it was the end of the world and there was no God. At times where things were going too well and you had to bring me back to the earth. When things seemed like the end, you always encouraged me and told me that I will forget these rough patches. Even through all the family issues we’ve had, you were always positive and told us to hold on to God especially even after things got better and we are all grateful for your effort and service to God because it has translated to the whole family.

You are a source of joy to anyone and everyone around you. I can never forget Uncle Gboyega’s words “your mum is wonderful, always going out of her way, helping others, God bless her.” You are everything I could have ever hoped for in a mother and while we disagree on some things, that’s normal and I am glad for the kind of man I am becoming because of you. I love you mum and I can’t wait to give you the best things life has to offer.

Love,

Bolu Owoyeye.
