Just on the heels of her Coachella 2019 lineup, Little Simz has announced a new album, GREY Area is set to arrive March 1 on her own label Age 101 via AWAL Recordings. The British-Nigerian rapper also shared a the video for her new single “Selfish” featuring West London singer/songwriter Cleo Sol.
Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac on Wednesday, Simz said the album title is a reflection of being in her mid-twenties. “No one warned me it was going to be this hard,” she told the DJ. “It feels like a grey area – which is why I called the album that. I definitely feel like this is my best work.”
GREY Area will feature the previously released “101FM,” “Offence,” and “Boss.” It is her first album since 2016’s Stillness in Wonderland. Little Simz play’s London festival All Points East on May 24.
Produced by Inflo with vocals by singer Cleo Sol, “Selfish” is the fourth release off Little Simz’ anticipated album GREY Area. The track is in tandem with the rapper’s theme of being reflective on what it’s like being in your mid-twenties—a struggle.
