Joeboy Joins Busy Signal On Major Lazer’s Bass Heavy ‘Sun Comes Up’

Like his label leader’s early beginnings, Joeboy is quickly charting a path to widespread international recognition. He has beat continental odds and this week, he joins Major Lazer on Sun Comes Up, the second track off their just-released fourth studio album, Music Is The Weapon.

On his last widespread collaboration, DJ Neptune’s Nobody, featuring Mr Eazi, Joeboy’s performance was the bridge that joined Mr Eazi’s gruff delivery and the sprightly instrumentals. On Sun Comes Up, Joeboy’s silky articulation of his stance on partying quells Jamaica’s Busy Signal’s fast-paced delivery. His mesmeric words and tone are a nice descent from the high energy Busy Signal set off.

Despite its abruptness, Joeboy’s performance has a long-lasting effect and the easy harmony suggests his comfortability in the presence of dominating personas.

Joeboy is joined by fellow Nigerian, BeatsByKO, who joins Diplo in creating the vibrant soundscape that gives life to the track.
