Major Lazer's Particula Video Encompasses 70's Culture in Johannesburg

While it may not currently be a thing, there is some validity to a claim that Major Lazer have been largely responsible for the breaking of African music in the Western world. Typically, it comes from alterations to African songs which pique an interest in the sound and often leads to further spins of said artist’s material however, in this calendar year, they’ve taken a step forward by embarking on an African tour and on their six-track Know No Better EP, the trio featured African stars, Nasty C, DJ Maphorisa, Patoranking, Ice Prince and Nigerian-American rapper, Jidenna on Particula, a record we can agree is the second most successful record off the project missing out on the top spot to the star studded, Know No Better which features Travis Scott, Quavo and Camila Cabello.

In the video for the Particula, Patoranking is missing, however, Nasty C, Jidenna, Maphorisa and Ice Prince take to South Africa’s biggest city as director Adriaan Louw makes an attempt to encompass 70’s culture with dancing, African prints and garments and all round high spirited actions.
