Fortunately for the music industry, last year, producer turned artist – Maleek Berry – dropped a successful premier project, Last Daze of Summer. With hits like Eko Miami, and Let Me Know he cemented his position and paved the way for awards like Best New Act and Best Pop Act at the recent Sound City Awards. This Christmas, he went on to continue his winning streak with an impressive culminating concert in Lagos, Nigeria. He’s quickly shifted gears however and shows no inclination of slowing down this streak as he releases an even more imposing project First Daze of Winter.
First Daze of Winter is typical Maleek and significantly similar to Last Daze of Summer. Listening to it, you would be injected with similar sounds and what we’ve begun to acknowledge as the Maleek Berry sound but he also asserts himself emotionally and shows more vulnerability with tracks like Been Calling, Own It and What If.
