Grammy-nominated artist Matt B released his highly anticipated album, ALKEBULAN. The project serves as a homage to his African roots, symbolizing his profound evolution as he rediscovers his purpose and love for music elevated by sounds from various African countries.

ALKEBULAN meaning “Mother of Mankind,” signifies a joyful homecoming to Matt’s African heritage and the individuals who inspire him. This album enhances the vibrant musical landscape he skillfully captured in his previous Afro-inspired releases. Through its collection of 10 tracks, listeners are guided on a culturally immersive journey, as Matt delves into moments of pride in songs like the rhythmic and captivating SALETEMA, which embodies the sensation of discovering one’s sense of belonging. GUNJALE, a collaboration with fellow labelmates Ugaboys, exemplifies the essence of being part of a jubilant community deeply rooted in its heritage. Themes of representation and the excellence of Black culture are explored in SHINING, while the dynamic track FREEDOM, featuring Motswana Mo Erongo, symbolizes breaking free from confining circumstances. Additionally, ALKEBULAN presents a reimagined edition of Matt’s GRAMMY-nominated hit GIMME LOVE, featuring Eddy Kenzo, which debuted among the Top 50 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Charts. This new project serves as a rebirth and new beginning to his artistic creativity.
