Mavin Commemorates 10 Year Anniversary With New All Star Single ‘Overdose’

Posted on

The last time we got an all-star song from Mavin Records was back in 2019 when the label released ‘All Is In Order‘ featuring Don Jazzy, Rema, Korede Bello, DNA & Crayon. And now, just a few days after celebrating Mavin’s 10 year anniversary, Don Jazzy has dropped a new single aptly titled Overdose which features three of Mavins’ new additions — Ayra Starr, Magixx, Boy Spyce and two of the label’s more seasoned acts —- Crayon & Ladipoe.

Looking at the list of features alone, one might be a little skeptical about what this interesting mix of artists would sound like together. But if there’s one thing we know about Don Jazzy, it’s that he has a good ear for talent — something all of these artists have in common. The song comes together nicely, with each member of the team holding up their end of the bargain, giving us a taste of their individual gifts and vibes.

Backed by a somewhat predictable but very catchy beat, Overdose is one of those songs that is easy to sing along to and by the second or third listen, you’ll probably already know most of the lyrics in the chorus:

“Overdose me

Your love dey overdose me

Na you

I want

Me love

You i think of

Overloading

I’ll be overloading

Your bank

Account

Money plenty

Tell me the amount”

The song, which was produced by London and Ozedikus, serves as a nice buildup to the collaborative project the record label is said to be releasing soon and is, indeed, an overdose of young talent. Listen to the tune below:
